BAFRA EXAM 2017
We are now in the examination period. The Exam may be found here: http://www.bafra.info/members/exams/exam2017/exam2017.pdf. Before attempting the exam, please read all of the rubric on the first two pages. This will answer quite a number of the queries that people may have. In particular, please note the two new entries in the section “Unless specifically stated otherwise, assume the following for ALL questions”.
As a reminder, all qualified members must sit the exam to retain their qualified status. Associate, affiliate and overseas restricted members are not required to sit the exam but you are welcome to should you wish to do so. In particular, it will allow associate members and their mentors to assess their progress and help identify areas for further training.
As a matter of interest, the first completed answer sheet was submitted at 23:49 on 4th April!
Berkshire, Birmingham Lions Juniors, Bournemouth, Bristol Apache, East Kilbride, Hastings, Oxford Saints, Sussex, Swindon Wembley and Worcester have all prepaid.

RULE BOOKS AND MECHANICS MANUALS
Rule books have now been posted out to those qualified and associate members who were unable to attend the Convention and mechanics manuals to all qualified and associate members. They were sent to the address you have notified for communications. They should have arrived by the time you read this. If they have not arrived by 18th April, please let me know.
YOUNGEST QUALIFIED OFFICIAL
A question came up at the AGM about the youngest fully qualified official BAFRA has ever had. Such records are not retained going back to 1984 so it was agreed I would ask via Newsflash. Not counting junior members (who could only qualify at junior level), does anyone know of a member who fully qualified before their 20th birthday and, if so, what their age was when they qualified? If you are not certain of the age, a best estimate in years and months would suffice. Just let me know by e-mail. Thanks for any assistance you are able to provide.
For those not at the awards dinner at the Convention, congratulations to Henry Richardson, who was our Official of the Year and Daniel Johnston who won the Alan Wilson Award for the upcoming new official. More information about the awards and previous winners may be found on our website at: http://www.bafra.info/info/handbook/officialsawards.php.
