ANNUAL EXAM
As of 13th April, exams have been received from Amir Brooks, Phil Cottier, Charles Dean-Young, Cameron Gibson, Murray Gibson, Michael LeFevre, Richard Madge, Julian Mallia, Lee Mills, Tim Ockendon, Norval Scott, Lee Taylor, Mark Wilson and Brian Yates. If you have sent your answers in and believe I should have received them by that date, please contact me. The onus is on members to ensure that they receive a copy of the exam and return it by the closing date. It may be possible to negotiate a short extension to the closing date on an individual basis. Charles Dean-Young the Director of Training is the only Director authorised to grant such an extension; he may be contacted via training@bafra.org. I remind people it is compulsory for qualified officials to sit the annual exam (including those who become qualified during the exam period). Associate members are strongly encouraged to attempt the exam as it will give them an indication of their areas of strength and weakness.

MICROPHONE & PLAUDITS
Plaudits to the Lancashire Wolverines organisation. For their season opening double header on Sunday they had set up a commentator, scoreboard and Referee’s microphone. This made a significant improvement to the game day atmosphere and was appreciated by officials and spectators alike. At this week's game the commentary was excellent, unbiased and factual.

Carlisle Border Reivers |
Game was suspended for approx 45 minutes due to ambulance having to take an injured player from field (ankle injury). Approx 4-1/2 minutes remained in 2nd quarter, both teams agreed to call completion of half and go to half time. Game recommenced upon ambulance returning to field at 4:05pm after transferring player to NHS ambulance for transport to hospital. Later heard that injury was not serious, and player may only miss a couple of games. Also, congratulations to the Carlisle team and game management for an excellent representation of their team for their first regular season game in BAFA CL. Excellent communications, and assistance for the officials and provision of after game 'nibbles' was very much appreciated by all. Mark Snow #430 |
